A Family of Christian Faith: Impacted to the Core by the Gospel
Using the DNA or defining characteristic of the church, “family of faith”, the ministry blueprint was developed. It uses family terminology and language to explain a process of discipleship. This vision takes seriously two mandates Jesus gives the Church in the Gospels—the Great Commission (Matthew 28) and the Great Commandment (Mark 12). The goal is to move people along the disciple- making process. Success then is measured by growth in each category or the number of people who move to the next level over a specified period of time. The various programs employed are not the agents of change they are simply ways of fostering and giving opportunity for God to do the work of transformation in us and through us. In fact, this is all about staying connected to the only source transformation—God the Father, Son, Holy Spirit. A Family of Christian Faith Impacted to the Core by the Gospel…that happens by worshipping Christ (foyer), building strong relationships (family room), being shaped by God’s Word (dining room) and by serving wherever we go (garage).
